What I Offer
Functional Assessment
When people cannot participate effectively in activities of daily living, such as getting dressed, climbing stairs, making a meal, going shopping or to work, an Occupational Therapist has the ideal skill mix to work with that person in improving their functional capacity and therefore quality of life. I can help you as an individual to develop or recover daily living and work skills, either through the use of purposeful activity or by using equipment and adaptations.
As an OT (Occupational Therapist) I will look at identifying and assessing your strengths, priorities and difficulties. This may, for example, include assessing physical ability to carry out certain tasks, whilst observing cognitive processes and emotional responses to the task. I may then look at what items you may need to carry out the assessed activity, for example furniture or clothes, and look at the environment, for example the layout of the home or work. Next maybe the option of additional support required. The final stage is to review which activities you would like to be able to perform more easily and whether the recommendations are working for you.
Independent OT Assessments
OT Solutions specialises in providing private OT assessments for any individual or group, helping those with a disability to work and live as independently as possible. Whether you’re finding certain tasks a bit more difficult as you get older, you have a disability yourself or you know or care for someone in this situation, I can help.
As an OT, I aim to maximise an individual’s quality of life and achieve optimal levels of functional independence wherever possible. This may include supporting carers, families and colleagues to assist you in achieving and maintaining your goals.
